  1. Pure Gym is fine if you are looking for the typical gym experience: machines, treadmills, ellipitcals and an assortment of classes. However, if you are serious about your training, and are beyond the novice stage of using machines, and prefer a lifting platform to a stair climber, you will face some challenges: mainly that there is only one squat rack and it is rarely used for its intended purpose. There is not a lot of open space on the floor, so when it is busy you will find it difficult to perform any of the olympic lifts safely. There is also an unfortunate lack of pull up bars. If you have grown up with the prototypical “globo”/commercial gym and you have yet to experience a proper gym where real work gets done, you will feel right at home at Pure. Their staff is very friendly and even the owner is very approachable as you can find him working out right besides you on some days. I find their pricing to be right in line with other gyms in the area, and there are efforts made to organize social events outside of the gym for their members.
